Chief Justice Couriel to keynote Business Law Section Legislative Update October 30

Florida Supreme Court Chief Justice John D. Couriel will keynote the Business Law Section’s 2026 Legislative Update on October 30 at the Florida International University College of Law in Miami.

The all-day event will explore the latest legislative, judicial and regulatory developments affecting Florida business law, providing updates on:

• Nonprofit corporation statute

• Florida trademark statute

• Florida business case law

• Voluntary trial resolution: why it matters and what's next

• AI strategy and legislative developments: practical advice to business clients

• Florida business courts: practice insights, functional importance, and the future

The registration fee is $235 for Business Law Section members, $305 for non-members, and $165 for students.

Attendees will be eligible for up to 8 general CLE credits and 1 Technology CLE credit as well as 8 certification program credits in business litigation and 1 certification credit in intellectual property law.

The program is scheduled to start Friday, October 30, at 8 a.m. and will be held at the FIU College of Law, located at 11291 Southwest 12th Street in Miami.
