Musk Merges xAI Into SpaceX
(MENAFN) U.S. tech billionaire Elon Musk announced Wednesday that his artificial intelligence venture xAI will cease to exist as an independent entity, folding its operations directly into SpaceX.
"xAI will be dissolved as a separate company, so it will just be SpaceXAI, the AI products from SpaceX," Musk wrote on his social media platform X, responding to discussions about xAI's corporate restructuring.
A statement posted the same day on xAI's website — now bearing the SpaceXAI name — revealed the company had entered into an agreement with U.S. AI firm Anthropic to gain access to Colossus 1, described as among the most powerful and rapidly deployed AI supercomputers in the world.
Musk launched xAI in 2023, and the company went on to build AI products including the chatbot Grok. Earlier this February, xAI disclosed on its website that SpaceX had completed its acquisition of the firm.
